Mall surveillance nabs $600,000 in cocaine
Sheriffâs personnel conducted surveillance at Cielo Vista Mall that to the arrests of two men on cocaine possession charges.
Raul Vasquez Valdez, 30, of El Paso, and Eduardo Martinez Jurado, 36, of Jurez, were first spotted about 5:30 p.m. Monday at the mall. Sheriffâs personnel followed the two when they drove off in a Jeep Cherokee, heading east on Interstate 10.
When the pair reached the Lomaland exit, they threw out a black bag containing bundles of cocaine, sheriffâs officials said. After the pair were taken into custody, sheriffâs officials recovered the bag, finding more than 24 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of more than $600,000.
